The average national approval rating for Mexico's 32 governors dropped from 52.4% to 52.2% in August 2026. This marks the first decline in approval since the start of the year, following the highest peak recorded in 2026. Data from the Ranking Mitofsky Chapter revealed that 18 governors are currently performing above the national average, while 14 are below. The results show a balanced split in performance, with 16 executives experiencing a decrease in public approval compared of to June, and 16 experiencing an increase. The survey categorized the governors based on performance levels: eight governors achieved 'outstanding' ratings of over 60%, 11 reached 'high' ratings between 50% and 59.9%, and 12 fell into the 'medium' category of 40% to 49.9%. Only one governor recorded a 'low' rating of less than 40%. The top three performers were Ricardo Gallardo, Mara Lezama, and Mauricio Kuri.
