Ariadna Montiel Accuses Opposition of Hypocrisy and Surrendering to Foreign Interests Over Andrés Manuel López Beltrán Visa
Ariadna Montiel, the national director of Morena, accused the conservative opposition block of acting with "treason to the fatherland" and hypocrisy regarding the cancellation of the US visa for Andrés Manuel López Beltrán. The Morenista leader argued that the PAN and PRI parties are seeking external support because they lack popular support within Mexico, comparing their actions to historical trends of conservatism. Montiel dismissed the PAN's demands for an investigation into López Beltrán's alleged links to organized crime, noting that the PAN is being cynical when they demand accountability for others while their own members are implicated. She specifically cited former PAN governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel as being part of a large network of fuel smuggling fraud. Montiel suggested that the opposition should update their slogans to reflect "treason, corruption, and huachicol." The administration's project of the Fourth Transformation remains solid, according to Montiel, who emphasized that the majority of Mexicans decide the country's direction.
