The Commission for Regulation of Communications (CRT) announced that while the deadline for registering mobile lines ending in 0 passed on Saturday, August 15, users can still recover their service. The regulatory body stated that telecommunications companies will begin suspending services for unconnected lines within 72 hours of the deadline, concluding on Tuesday, August 18. During this suspension period, users will lose access to conventional calls, text messages, and mobile data, though emergency calls to 911 and seismic alerts will remain active. The CRT stated that registration is mandatory and can be completed via a company's platform or in person using a valid official identification and CURP. Users can perform the registration through Wi-Fi without needing a mobile data balance. The CRT reported that only 71 million 183,965 users have completed the task so far, which is less than 50 percent of the total users. The registration calendar continues for the next several months, with numbers ending in 1 having a deadline of August 31.
