Jonathan Meléndez, a 38-year-old composer and keyboardist for the synthpop group Camilo Séptimo, was killed in a residential apartment in Atizapán de Zaragoza on September 2, 2026. He was found dead along with his wife, who was three months pregnant, their three-year-old daughter, a 21-year-old domestic worker, and a family dog. A six-year-old child was also found alive at the residence with no signs of violence. Authorities reported that the attack occurred between 5:30 pm and 7:40 pm on Tuesday, September 1. The investigation revealed that the perpetrators entered the home without forced doors, suggesting they were welcomed by the residents. Diego Sebastián "N" and Gerardo "N" were detained as suspects. Diego Sebastián "N" was identified as a close associate of Meléndez, who reportedly used the trust of the family to enter the home. Meléndez was a prominent figure in the Mexican music scene, known for his work on keyboards and synthesizers. He co-founded Camilo Séptimo in 2013 with Manuel Mendoza and Erik Vázquez.
