Federal Deputy Zenyazen Escobar Garcia was found dead inside his vehicle on a Veracruz highway.

State officials confirmed that the vehicle showed no signs of violence, leading to the General Prosecutor's Office to open a case file to identify the perpetrators and clarify the events. Security forces deployed an operation and partially closed circulation on the highway. Zenyazen Escobar Garcia served as the coordinator of Morena's bloc in the state legislature and was previously the secretary of Education in Veracruz. During a plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies last Thursday, he challenged a legislator from the PRI to a fight after pushing a fellow party member. Alfonso Ramirez Cuellar demanded an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death. The administration of the Morena party expressed condolences to his family and friends.
