Audi Revives A2 Nameplate with New Efficient Electric Crossover for the European Market
Audi has unveiled the A2 e-tron, a new entry-level electric crossover designed specifically for European customers. The vehicle is the brand's most efficient series-production model to date, achieving an energy consumption of 12.8 kWh per 100 km. Built on the MEB platform, the A2 e-tron features a rear-wheel drive system and offers four power levels ranging from 125 kW to 240 kW. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle can achieve a range of up to 401 miles on the European WLTP cycle. The model features a drag coefficient of 0.24, aided by aerodynamic components such as an enclosed underbody and wing-shaped electric door handles. The interior includes a 12.8-inch curved touchscreen and a 11.9-inch digital instrument display. It is the first production car to feature the Fidlock magnetic fastening system as standard equipment. The A2 e-tron supports bidirectional charging, allowing it to function as a power source for external electronics or a home grid. Orders for the A2 e-tron open on September 10, 2026, with first deliveries expected to begin in December 2026. The vehicle will be built at the Ingolstadt plant in Germany.
