An unnamed Austrian woman died after her husband sexually abused her while she was extremely intoxicated.
An unnamed Austrian woman died after her husband sexually abused her while she was in a state of extreme intoxication. Prosecutors in the city of Wels reported that the woman was defenseless during the incident. While the husband initially claimed the death was an accident during sex, the victim's injuries indicated violence. Another man, aged 51, has confessed to sexually abusing the woman, including on the night she died. Prosecutors are currently investigating whether other men may have also sexually abused the woman, potentially in exchange for payment. The case has been compared by local media to the case of Gisèle Pelicot, who was convicted of aggravated rape after her husband recruited dozens of strangers to rape her while she was unconscious. The 51-year-old husband is currently in custody and faces allegations of abuse of a defenseless or impaired person resulting in death. This offense carries a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison or life. Depending on the results of the investigation, the husband could eventually face a murder charge.
