A third-alarm fire destroyed a historic business complex in Old Town Newhall on Monday morning, razing several local establishments. The blaze began at approximately 3 a.m. at an autobody shop on Main Street and quickly spread to neighboring businesses, including the Newhall Refinery restaurant, a performing arts theater, and a clothing store. More than 100 firefighters and a hazardous materials team responded to the scene, using aerial ladder trucks to surround and drown the flames. The fire was particularly destructive because the decades-old buildings were connected by a single attic, which allowed the flames to spread rapidly across the complex. While the fire caused significant damage to the area's premiere arts and entertainment center, no injuries were reported. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
