Armed groups in Tacámbaro municipality face off, leaving one man dead and a vehicle on fire.

A man was killed and a vehicle was burned during an armed confrontation between members of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación and Los Caballeros Templarios in the Pedernales locality of Tacámbaro, Michoacán. The Secretariat of Public Security of Michoacán deployed reinforcements, including the Mexican Army and National Guard, to locate the perpetrators and manage traffic affected by the fire. Governor Dujú Mireles stated that the situation is under control and that federal authorities are providing support. This incident occurred amidst a series of operations against criminal leaders, including the capture of Heraclio Guerrero Martñnez, alias “Tío Lako,” who was responsible for over 20 narcobloqueos. The administration confirmed that these blockages were the result of a military operation by the Armed Forces against priority objectives. Additionally, the capture of Alfonso Fernández Magallón, alias “Poncho la Quiringua,” triggered further blockages and fires in the region, leading the US Embassy to issue a level 4 travel alert for Michoacán.
