Bayley's Seafood Restaurant closes its doors permanently after more than 30 years of family-owned service in Scarborough.

Bayley's Seafood Restaurant in Scarborough officially closed its doors for good on Thursday, Aug. 20. The family-owned establishment, which opened in 1995, served lobster, clams, and fish to locals and summer visitors for over three decades. Owners announced the decision to close was difficult, expressing gratitude to the staff, customers, and the community for their support throughout the restaurant's history. The closure follows a period of setbacks, including extensive repairs required after a burst pipe caused significant damage, which kept the business closed since 2022. While the restaurant finally reopened in fall 2025, the closure marks the end of a meaningful chapter for a Pine Point Road staple. The restaurant competed for decades with nearby Ken's Seafood, which remains a busy destination for seafood lovers in the area.
