A tractor-trailer truck crashed through an Interstate 80 railing near Truckee, California, on Friday morning. The California Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle lost control around 10:45 a.m. near Floriston Way, causing the cab to hang approximately 80 feet over a bridge. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries, requiring transport to a local hospital by an air-and-ground ambulance service. Traffic on the eastbound side of the highway was shut down for several hours as crews worked to separate the tractor from its trailer and repair the damaged railing. The incident occurred as many travelers were heading toward the Nevada Burning Man festival. By Saturday morning, all lanes of the eastbound highway were fully reopened.
