Claire Weiss Reveals New Class of Disney Cruise Line Ships to Expand Global Reach

Claire Weiss announced a new class of three ships that will join the Disney Cruise Line fleet, positioned between the classic Magic-class and the newer Dream and Wish-classes. These vessels, measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons and carrying 3,000 guests, are designed to offer greater flexibility in reaching new destinations and audiences. During the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Weiss revealed that these ships will feature industry-leading technology and energy-efficient designs, including streamlined hulls and battery systems to support main engines. The administration announced that the fleet will reach a target of 13 ships by the end of 2030, moving the deadline forward from the original 2031 projection. This expansion includes a strategic pivot toward the Asian market, with the Disney Adventure serving as a permanent base in Singapore. Additionally, a new Japanese vessel with a capacity for 4,000 passengers is scheduled for a 2029 launch, allowing travelers to pair land-based park visits with maritime experiences in East Asia.
