British police are working to recover 70,000 pints of Guinness stout stolen from a packaging warehouse in Runcorn, England. The theft occurred on Monday at the Whitehouse Industrial Estate on Aston Lane. Two drivers took two HGV trailers containing more than 800 barrels of the beer, which was destined for local pubs. Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy stated that the beer is only good for the consumer when it has been bought and paid for. The stolen beer is valued at approximately £115,000, while the trailers themselves are valued at about £50,000. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at £205,000. The first trailer was taken at approximately 19:45 BST, and the second was taken at 21:30. Police believe both vehicles were driven by men. The first driver is described as a white man with a short dark beard wearing a beanie hat, and the second driver is believed to have been wearing a cap. The stolen trucks are identified by unique numbers on their rear doors: DL736 and DL542.
