Broadcom introduces VMware AI Factory to streamline enterprise AI infrastructure and agent governance

Broadcom announced the launch of the VMware AI Factory, a packaged AI infrastructure stack designed to help companies deploy production AI on-premises. The new stack integrates infrastructure automation capabilities from VMware Cloud Foundation to reduce the time required to move from bare metal server deployment to serving the first AI model from weeks to hours. The system is compatible with AI accelerators from Nvidia and AMD and supports over 150 open-source and commercial models. To address the challenge of managing autonomous AI agents, the administration announced the release of AgentMinder. This tool acts as a traffic controller for AI agents by verifying identities and authorizing actions against declared missions and risks. Broadcom also introduced TrueSource, which combines open-source efforts under a single umbrella, providing secure clean-room builds for Java, Python, and Node.js, as well as data services for engines like PostgreSQL and MySQL. Broadcom officials noted that while humans have had decades to develop access management systems, AI agents require more immediate controls. The new infrastructure aims to provide a turnkey solution for enterprises struggling to manage the complexity of GPUs, networking, and storage.
