Buc-ee's Opens First Arkansas Location in Benton to Create Over 200 Jobs

The Texas-based travel center chain Buc-ee's opened its first Arkansas location in Benton on August 17, marking a significant expansion beyond its home state. The new 74,000-square-foot facility features 120 fueling positions and is expected to create more than 200 jobs for the local community. Buc-ee's founder and CEO Arch "Beaver" Aplin III stated that Arkansas was a natural fit for the brand's customer base, highlighting the company's reputation for high-quality food, safety, and world-renowned clean restrooms. The opening attracted thousands of visitors from across the country, including families and travelers from as far as Tokyo and Egypt. Local leaders, including Benton Mayor Tom Farmer and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, expressed optimism regarding the economic development opportunities the store will provide. The administration announced that the new travel center will draw approximately 5 million people to Benton annually. While the chain continues its aggressive expansion, it has also faced recent trademark lawsuits against smaller businesses, such as Beaver's Mini Mart, which sparked some public commentary from figures like Oliver.
