Kyrylo Budanov warns Europe of escalating Russian hybrid warfare and the need to utilize Ukraine's military experience
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that Europe is beginning to recognize Russian aggression as increasingly manifesting through hybrid warfare. Budanov noted that Russia follows a playbook involving special information operations and propaganda that culmin'ate in operations such as sabotage at railways, airfields, and defense industry enterprises. He urged European nations to utilize Ukraine's military experience, noting that the country has faced significant costs in blood and money. The administration announced that Russia is responsible for an explosive-laden drone discovered at Leipzig airport in August. This incident, along with arson attacks and drone incursions in Romania and Poland, highlights the Kremlin's aggressive actions beyond Ukraine. While some officials expressed concern over the lack of a powerful deterrent response from NATO, others noted that Germany has taken direct action by shutting the Russian consulate in Bonn and terminating an agreement for the Russian House cultural center in Berlin. Russia also threatened to target Lithuania with nuclear weapons if the country allows nuclear arms to be stationed on its territory.
