The District Secretariat of Mobility in Bogota will implement specific vehicle restrictions on Monday, August 31, 2026, and Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The District Secretariat of Mobility in Bogota will enforce the 'pico and placa' measure for private vehicles on Monday, August 31, 2026, and Tuesday, September 1, 2026. On Monday, August 31, vehicles with plates ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are permitted to circulate from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while vehicles with plates ending in 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0 are restricted. On Tuesday, September 1, the same restriction applies, allowing only vehicles with plates ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to circulate. This mathematical coincidence means vehicles with plates ending in 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0 will face two consecutive days of restricted movement. For taxis and special transport vehicles, the restriction applies from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday, September 1, vehicles with plates ending in 3 and 4 are restricted. Drivers who ignore the rules will face a penalty of 15 daily minimum wages, which is approximately $604,100 pesos, and may have their vehicles immobilized and towed.
