Mexican authorities arrest Angel Gabriel N and Milton Yair N for involvement in the kidnapping of 10 Vizsla Silver mine workers.

Mexican authorities have arrested Angel Gabriel N, also known as "Tronco," and Milton Yair N. Both individuals are identified as members of the criminal group Los Menores, which is linked to the regional leader of Los Chapitos, Óscar Luciano Martínez Larios. These suspects were captured during a joint operation involving the National Defense Secretariat, the Secretariat of Security and Civil Protection, and the Secretariat for Public Security of Sinaloa. The operation targeted the municipality of La Concordia, Sinaloa, where 10 workers from the Canadian mining company Vizsla Silver Corp. were kidnapped on January 23, 2026. The 10 miners were initially taken hostage by an armed command. Following the kidnapping, a clandestine burial site was discovered in El Verde village, where nine of the 10 workers were eventually identified as dead. One worker, Francisco Antonio Esparza Yáñez, remains missing or unidentified. During the arrest, authorities seized long guns, a rocket launcher attachment, ammunition, drugs, and tactical equipment. Initial statements from the detainees suggested that the 10 miners were initially confused with members of the Los Mayos group, an adversary of the Los Chapitos group.
