Lodi resident Jonhatan Anguiano was killed by police after shooting a co-worker at a local McDonald's restaurant.

Lodi resident Jonhatan Anguiano, a 29-year-old McDonald's employee, was killed by responding officers after he opened fire inside a restaurant on West Lodi Avenue on Monday morning. The shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. when Anguiano, armed with a semi-automatic pistol, fired multiple shots, injuring a female co-worker who remains in stable condition at a local hospital. Police officers heard gunshots and screaming from inside the building and encountered Anguiano as they moved toward the sound. During the confrontation, Anguiano opened fire on an officer, forcing the police to return fire, which resulted in his death at the scene. Lodi City Councilmember Cameron Bregman expressed concern over the incident, noting that the violence was unacceptable for the small community. The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office is leading a multi-agency investigation into the motive behind the shooting. The restaurant remained closed on Tuesday for cleaning and investigation.
