Mexican authorities and US intelligence coordinated to arrest Epifanio “N”, a regional operator for the La Línea criminal group.

Mexican authorities detained Epifanio “N”, also known as “Pepa”, in the municipality of Manuel Ojinaga, Chihuahua. Epifanio “N” is identified as a regional operator for the La Línea criminal organization, which is involved in drug trafficking and human trafficking into the United States. The arrest occurred on September 8 and included the detention of his son, Alejandro “N”. The capture was the result of an exchange of information and military intelligence operations between the United States and Mexico. US Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson highlighted the coordination between the two countries to locate and apprehend individuals who threaten communities. Mexican federal forces, including the Secretariat of National Defense and the National Guard, conducted the operation. During the action, authorities seized one property, five firearms, 16 magazines, 400 cartridges, and two vehicles. La Línea is a criminal organization that originated in Ciudad Juárez and has expanded its activity across various zones of Chihuahua, often competing for control of strategic routes for drugs and and migrants.
