Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo confirms Sara Carter expressed interest in attending a Mexican music concert in the United States
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated that Sara Carter, the Director of the Office of National Drug Policy in the United States, expressed interest in attending the 'Mexico Canta' concert in the United States. The concert, which served as a semifinal for the Mexican music program, took place on August 23rd at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Sheinbaum Pardo noted that Carter showed interest in Mexican cultural and sports programs, specifically mentioning the 'Boxing for Peace' initiative. The President highlighted that Carter recently published a document recognizing the need to address drug consumption as a national public health policy. Sheinbaum Pardo also discussed the coordination with United States authorities to reduce fentanyl trafficking by more than 70%. She noted that while Mexico exports drugs to the United States, there is also significant production and distribution of methamphetamine within the United States. Sheinbaum Pardo indicated that Carter is expected to return to Mexico soon.
