Chevron Corporation Confirms New Oil and Gas Condensate Discovery Offshore Angola

Chevron Corporation has confirmed a significant oil and gas condensate discovery at the 105-4X exploration well in Angola's offshore Block 0. The discovery, located in the Lower Congo Basin, features a primary Pinda reservoir with more than 2,000 feet of hydrocarbon column and over 300 feet of net pay. Chevron Corporation described the reservoir quality as "excellent" and is currently evaluating whether the find can be tied back to existing production infrastructure to reduce capital expenditure and development time. Kevin McLachlan, Vice President of Exploration at Chevron Corporation, stated that the discovery marks an important milestone in the company's long history in Angola. The find follows the successful delivery of first oil from the Chevron Corporation's South N'dola Platform in December 2025. This discovery supports the company's broader strategy to expand its Sub-Saharan African portfolio, which currently produces approximately 300,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Chevron Corporation continues to pursue exploration opportunities across Nigeria, Namibia, and other West African basins.
