Unitree Robotics makes stock market debut in Shanghai while unveiling record-breaking 'Superman' robot

Unitree Robotics, the world's largest humanoid robot manufacturer, recently made its stock market debut in Shanghai's Star Market. The company's shares closed at 845 yuan on the first day of trading, ending with a gain of more than 460%. This milestone marks a significant turning point for China's robotics industry as Beijing seeks to dominate the global market for artificial intelligence and robotics. During the same period, the company unveiled its new 'Superman' robot, which has achieved human records in running and jumping. The robot utilizes advanced AI models and over 40 joint motors to achieve precise balance and mobility. While US rivals like Tesla and Amazon are developing humanoid robots, Unitree Robotics offers competitive pricing and high production volume. The administration announced in July that it would ban new Chinese-made humanoid and quadruped robots over national security concerns. Despite these challenges, Unitree Robotics remains a leader in the sector, delivering a net profit of 278 million yuan in 2025.
