Ajit Doval meets with Wang Yi to discuss India-China border disputes and bilateral relations in Beijing

Ajit Doval, India's National Security Advisor, arrived in Beijing to participate in the 25th Round of Special Representatives talks regarding the India-China boundary question. He is scheduled to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, to conduct an in-depth discussion on the 3,488 km border dispute and other bilateral, regional, and international issues. These talks are significant as they occur ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's expected visit to India for the September 12 BRICS summit. The meeting serves as a primary channel for negotiations to stabilize relations following the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Both sides aim to keep border areas peaceful and tranquil, following a consensus reached between the leaders of both countries. During the visit, Ajit Doval also called on Vice President Han Zheng to discuss ways to strengthen peace and tranquility in the border areas and improve bilateral relations across economic and political fora.
