Marú Carolina Hoyos leads the 2026 Solidarity Walk and Festival to support earthquake victims in Bogotá
Marú Carolina Hoyos, president of the Fundación Solidaridad por Colombia, announced that the 2026 Solidarity Walk and Festival will serve as a primary fundraising initiative for those affected by the recent 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The traditional event, which combines sports, culture, and music, will feature a walk on Sunday, August 30, 2026, starting and ending at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium. Participants can join various categories, including 3k, 10k, and 21k distances. The District Mobility Secretariat has authorized several highway closures to accommodate the runners, with alternate routes provided for drivers. The event also includes a free concert on Saturday, August 29, 2026, featuring international and national artists such as Wisin and Francy. While the concert is free to the public, attendees must register online to secure a ticket. All funds raised from the walk and festival will go toward supporting vulnerable communities and families most impacted by the natural disaster.
