The General Prosecutor's Office Failed to Locate José Rafael Ojeda Durán for Testimony in Fuel Trafficking Case
The General Prosecutor's Office (FGR) reported that it was unable to locate José Rafael Ojeda Durán, the former Secretary of Marine, to testify in the legal proceedings involving Contralmirante Fernando Farías Laguna. The defense team requested the presence of José Rafael Ojeda Durán to clarify the fiscal fuel trafficking case, which involves a complex network of contraband and illegal fuel distribution across maritime customs. Despite the defense providing a domicile for José Rafael Ojeda Durán, the FGR failed to find him for notification. This absence hindered the judicial process, as the former Secretary was expected to provide key testimony regarding the allegations made by Fernando Farías Laguna. The defense argues that José Rafael Ojeda Durán's testimony is necessary to clarify the command links within the scandal. The legal team for Fernando Farías Laguna has also filed an indirect amparo lawsuit to challenge the mandatory preventive detention and the grounds of the ministerial accusation.
