Scottish climber Laura Baillie completes the 'full house' of 1,072 UK and Ireland summits.
Laura Baillie has achieved the 'full house' of the Scottish Mountaineering Club, becoming one of an elite group of approximately 100 people to summit all 1,072 peaks across Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland. The 38-year-old property manager from Glasgow reached the final summit of Carn na h-Easgainn, a peak at 2,025 feet, which she chose for its accessibility to allow family and friends to join her. Baillie noted that the Corbetts were the most difficult classification to complete due to the pathless terrain. She completed the challenge through personal determination and years of hiking in various weather conditions. While she is among the youngest women to finish the feat, she is not a professional athlete, balancing the challenge with her daily life. The Scottish Mountaineering Club, founded in 1889, requires members to reach at least 50 Munros before being considered for membership.
