Firefighters reported that the fire burned at least 250 acres by Wednesday morning, reaching 10 percent containment. More than 120 personnel from various agencies, including Cal Fire, are assigned to the blaze. Crews are utilizing engines, water tenders, bulldozers, and helicopters to manage the fire. Evacuation orders remain in place for several areas, including Briceburg and the Octagon area. Highway 140 from Briceburg to the Bug Hostel remains closed. A temporary evacuation point has been established at the New Life Calvary Chapel on Cole Road. The fire's cause is currently under investigation, though it is believed to have started from the vehicle wreck. Cal Fire reported that increasing humidity is expected to help slow the fire's progression.
