Andr茅s Juli谩n Rend贸n initiates reconstruction of 4,090 homes in Antioquia following severe earthquake damage.

The Government of Antioquia has launched a reconstruction plan to repair 4,090 homes affected by the earthquake on August 10. The administration announced the delivery of the first 96 tons of construction materials to the southwestern municipalities of Caramanta, Hispania, and Betania. These materials include nearly 30,000 bricks, 726 sacks of cement, and 2,500 wooden beams to rebuild 268 homes in these specific localities. Governor Andr茅s Juli谩n Rend贸n stated that the reconstruction process is a priority, with local labor from municipalities contributing to the repairs. The plan focuses on initial repairs to roofs and walls to allow families to return to their homes safely. In the most affected areas, such as Andes and Ciudad Bolivar, a pilot reconstruction plan was established in partnership with private entities like VIVA Housing Company and Proantioquia. This initiative aims to rebuild collapsed structures and improve religious, hospital, and educational centers. The Departmental Integral Reconstruction Plan will serve as the framework for restoring housing and dignity to the affected territories.
