Criminal leader Roy Iván Manjarrez Daniela was shot down by police during a gunfight in the Bocoyna municipality.

The District Attorney of Chihuahua Western Zone confirmed that Roy Iván Manjarrez Daniela, a 33-year-old leader of the criminal group "Los HS" within the Nuevo Cártel de Juárez, was killed in a gunfight on Saturday night, August 22. The confrontation occurred in the San Juanito section of the Bocoyna municipality during an intelligence operation conducted by the Agency for State Investigation. Roy Iván Manjarrez Daniela was identified as a significant generator of violence in the region, known for his involvement in illegal logging and clandestine sawmills. Police found his body inside a Dodge Ram truck with ans AR-15 rifle and several pieces of tactical equipment, including bulletproof vests and marijuana. The engagement resulted in minor injuries to two officials and two civilians, including a six-year-old girl. State Public Security Secretariat elements arrived to provide backup, and the scene was processed by forensic experts. The General Prosecutor's Office continues to work toward apprehending more generators of violence in the state.
