Costco Wholesale Corporation and SCAN Group Partner to Launch Branded Medicare Plans for Seniors
Costco Wholesale Corporation and SCAN Group announced a partnership to offer private Medicare plans to customers in a limited number of states. The warehouse retailer will team with the nonprofit insurer to provide Medicare Advantage products in two states and a Medicare supplemental plan in a third state, pending regulatory approval. SCAN Group CEO Sachin H. Jain stated that the partnership aims to create a simple, easy-to-use insurance product for older adults. The plans are expected to include pharmacy, vision, hearing, and over-the-counter benefits. Costco CEO Ron Vachris noted that the initiative extends the company's commitment to delivering value and trust to its members. The plans will be available at Costco retail locations, through insurance agents, and via websites. While the specific states and timing are not yet disclosed due to regulatory restrictions, the rollout serves as a pilot to help seniors navigate healthcare more seamlessly. The partnership leverages Costco's reputation for price transparency and SCAN's expertise in senior-focused health insurance.
