Precious Arzuaga and Jennifer Quijano sentenced to life in prison for the torture and murder of Sam Nordquist

Precious Arzuaga and Jennifer Quijano were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on September 8, 2026, for their roles in the murder of Sam Nordquist. Arzuaga, identified as the ringleader of the group, pleaded guilty to 11 counts including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated sexual abuse. Quijano, described as the muscle of the group, also pleaded guilty to all charges, including first-degree murder and conspiracy. The two women were responsible for the torturing of Nordquist, a trans identified man from Minnesota, who was held captive for over a month in a motel room in Hopewell, New York. During his captivity, Nordquist was beaten, sexually assaulted, and kept in a dog cage, where Quijano allegedly referred to him as a "two-legged dog." Judge Kristina Karle noted that Arzuaga had a history of domestic abuse, while prosecutors stated Quijano's motive was jealousy over Nordquist's relationship with Arzuaga. Arzuaga apologized to the Nordquist family during the sentencing, while Quijano provided a written statement expressing regret for her actions. The judge ordered both women to stay away from Arzuaga's two children, who were forced to participate in the torture.
