Yanis Yushebayev, the head of a Bukhara organized crime group, was shot dead on Sunday at a gas station near Caesarea. Security-camera footage shows Yushebayev leaving a convenience store when a man wearing a cap turned toward him and fired a handgun at close range from behind. Yushebayev collapsed and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. Police from the Hadera station launched a manhunt for the suspected killer, who has not yet been identified. Yushebayev was a prominent figure in the local criminal world, known for his connections with figures like Patrick Krasnopolsky and Osher Shmilov. He also maintained a significant alliance with Eli and Matan Arbiv, who controlled organized crime operations in the areas of Hadera, Or Akiva, Caesarea, and parts of the Sharon region. The assassination of a senior figure in the organized crime network could alter existing alliances and rivalries, potentially creating a new struggle over territory and influence among criminal organizations in the region.
