Judge orders Abelardo De La Espriella to remove photos of corpses from official social media
A judge in Bogotá has ordered the Presidency of the Republic and the Department Administrative of the Presidency of the Republic to remove photos and videos of President Abelardo De La Espriella walking among the corpses of members of armed groups. The decision follows a tutela presented by Green Alliance congressman Santiago Osorio, who argued that the images could cause psychological suffering or harm to minors. Judge 14 of Bogotá implemented these measures as a precautionary step while the court reviews the underlying action. The order specifically targets publications from September 2 and 4, which showed the president presenting the results of the AzarĂas operation in Miraflores and Centinela de la Patria. Congressman Santiago Osorio stated that the government should not compete with criminality to see which is more cruel. Iris Marñn, head of the Public Defender's Office, also questioned the exhibition of corpses, stating that the government should not normalize death as a demonstration of power or a way to demonstrate authority.
