Delta Flight 2311 Diverted to Las Vegas Following Rapid Descent Due to Pressurization Issue

Delta Flight 2311, a Boeing 737-900, made an emergency landing in Las Vegas on Sunday, Sept. 6, after experiencing an unexpected pressurization issue. The aircraft was traveling from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City when it descended approximately 27,000 feet in about 10 minutes. During the descent, oxygen masks deployed for the 174 passengers and six crew members on board. Delta stated that the flight crew followed standard procedures to bring the aircraft to a safe altitude. Air traffic control recordings show the pilot requesting a descent to 9,000 feet and confirming that oxygen masks were deployed. No injuries were reported during the incident. After landing at Harry Reid International Airport, passengers deplaned normally and were rebooked on another aircraft to complete their journey to Salt Lake City. Delta apologized to customers for the delay and thanked the ground support teams for their professionalism.
