Authorities in Puebla, Mexico, seized a property in Tlaola that was used to store and operate cryptocurrency mining equipment on a large scale. The operation was conducted in coordination between the General Prosecutor's Office (FGR), the Ministry of Navy (Marina), and the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP). At the site, officials found electrical and technological infrastructure including a pedestal transformer, approximately 80 medium-voltage terminals, and eight satellite internet antennas. The property also housed around 300 specialized computer units (GPU) that were operating to perform mathematical calculations. The seizure is part of an investigation to determine the origin and the destination of the resources generated by the infrastructure. Authorities are currently analyzing whether the virtual assets produced could have been used to provide a legal appearance to resources related to illicit activities. The property and all equipment found remain under the custody of the competent authority while investigations continue to determine the operator of the infrastructure.
