Authorities in Oaxaca detained 10 members of the Alliance of Unions and Associations of the State of Oaxaca for alleged extortion.
Federal and state forces conducted a joint operation in Oaxaca to detain 10 members of the Alliance of Unions and Associations of the State of Oaxaca (ASAEO). The members were identified as part of a cell within the Sinaloa Cartel and are accused of various crimes including theft and rent collection. During the 14 simultaneous raids, over 300 elements from various corporations, including the Secretariat of Marine, the National Guard, and the State Police, coordinated the operation across the metropolitan zone. Authorities secured four long guns and two short arms during the raids. The operation was a result of intelligence criminal work by the General Prosecutor's Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) in coordination with multiple federal and state agencies.
