A 40-year-old woman, Allison Rahmani, died after her vehicle plunged into a backyard pool in Hewlett, New York.

Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old Jewish teacher and mother of four, died Friday morning after losing control of her vehicle in Hewlett, New York. The accident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on Elinor Road, where Rahmani was driving a 2023 GMC SUV in a driveway. The vehicle struck a tree and a parked car before plunging into an in-ground pool. Nassau County Police Department officials reported that Rahmani was removed from the vehicle before officers arrived. Police performed life-saving measures, including CPR, but she was declared deceased at the hospital. A source familiar with the family confirmed that Rahmani did not drown, as she was able to call for help before dying in an ambulance. Rahmani served as a math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway. An investigation into the fatal vehicular accident remains ongoing.
