Dyson launches $499 CameraJet smart toothbrush featuring AI-powered camera and precision liquid jet for simultaneous brushing and flossing
Dyson has expanded its personal care lineup with the launch of the CameraJet, an electric toothbrush that incorporates a camera into the brush head. The device, priced at $499, uses a 100,000-pixel macro camera to analyze 28 images per second to identify gaps between teeth in real time. Once a gap is detected, the software triggers a precision jet of mouthwash within 100 milliseconds to remove plaque. The CameraJet features variable sonic oscillation to clean deeper than conventional brushes. It includes a 12.5ml mouthwash reservoir and a docking station that refills the tank in three seconds. The device is also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, allowing users to view a live feed of their mouth through the MyDyson app. Dyson developed the product over six years, utilizing proxy plaque created in partnership with the National University of Singapore. Laboratory testing indicated the CameraJet removed nearly 70% more plaque in hard-to-reach areas than premium electric toothbrushes under specific conditions. The company also plans to release its own non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouthwash to complement the device.
