James Dyson launches the CameraJet, a $499 electric toothbrush featuring a built-in camera and water jet technology.
James Dyson has introduced the Dyson CameraJet, a premium electric toothbrush that integrates brushing, water flossing, and camera technology into a single device. The product, which retails for $499, features a 100mm pixel macro lens and an LED light to identify and clean gaps between teeth. It also utilizes a precision water jet to propel mouthwash through these gaps, allowing users to perform interdental cleaning simultaneously with brushing. Engineered over six years, the CameraJet uses a fan-like spray to sweep away plaque rather than using a high-pressure needle jet. The device is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, allowing users to record and view their brushing routine through a dedicated app. While the toothbrush is priced as a luxury item, it aims to address the common habit of skipping flossing. Dyson engineers developed proprietary non-foaming toothpaste and mouthwash to optimize the-visibility for the camera. The product is available in Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink, and includes a docking station, two brush heads, and a travel case.
