A magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck approximately 2.5 to 4 miles southeast of Compton, California, early Sunday morning. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake occurred at a depth of nearly 8 miles. Residents in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and Riverside counties reported feeling weak-to-light shaking. The shaking was felt from Universal City to the north, Santee to the south, Murrieta to the east, and Hermosa Beach to the west. There were no immediate reports of injuries or major damage resulting from the temblor. The Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management reminded the public to remain prepared for future earthquakes by practicing the 'drop, cover, and hold on' method and creating emergency plans for homes and workplaces.
