Masoud Pezeshkian Claims Iran Has Won the War as Egypt Seeks to Revive U.S.-Iran Negotiations
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the war with the United States should end because the world has accepted that Iran has won. This declaration follows a period of intense conflict where Iran has maintained resistance to U.S. demands while securing control over the Strait of Hormuz. To facilitate a resolution, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss bringing Tehran and Washington back to the negotiating table. The administration announced that President Trump would impose an "unprecedented" level of economic warfare and isolation on Iran to force the leadership to end its nuclear program and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Simultaneously, France and Saudi Arabia are developing alternative routes to the Strait of Hormuz to bypass the waterway. Meanwhile, Israel continues to conduct strikes in Syria and Gaza, where one Palestinian was allegedly killed by Israeli forces during a recent strike on a Hamas commander.
