The National Army of Colombia opens recruitment for the 2026 third contingent and the 2027-1 officer training program.

The National Army of Colombia has announced a new recruitment call for the third semester of 2026, targeting Colombian men and women between the ages of 18 and 23. Applicants must meet specific physical, psychological, and documentary requirements, including a negative pregnancy test for women. A significant new feature for this 2026 contingent is an economic bonus, where regular soldiers and auxiliaries will receive a monthly bonus of $1,750,905, which is 100% of the minimum legal monthly salary. Beyond the monthly payment, recruits will receive food, housing, and healthcare, along with educational credits and pension benefits. Simultaneously, the Escuela Militar de Cadetes General José María Córdova (ESMIC) has opened its 2027-1 call for young people under 21 to begin four-year officer training. Candidates must complete various selection stages, including psychometric evaluations, medical exams, and physical tests. The ESMIC offers various academic options such as Civil Engineering and Law. Financial incentives include a 30% discount for children of military personnel, afro-descendant and indigenous communities, and those who have already served in the military. Students from Sisbén groups A, B, and C also qualify for free tuition.
