Rosa Icela Rodriguez Urges Morena Lawmakers to Prioritize National Stability Over Personal Ambitions for 2027 Elections
Rosa Icela Rodriguez, the Secretary of Governance, called on Morena lawmakers to prioritize national stability and the well-being of the majority over personal interests as the 2027 electoral process begins. Speaking during a plenary meeting at the Palacio Legislativo de San Lózar, Rodriguez emphasized that no individual candidate or position should be placed above the country's sovereignty. She warned legislators to maintain an ethical frontier, noting that positions are transitory while the people's mandate is permanent. Rodriguez also highlighted the importance of maintaining unity within the movement to support the reforms proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum. Key legislative priorities include a constitutional reform to ensure that only those with Mexican nationality can compete for the presidency or governorships, as well as a robust anticorruption package. Despite the departure of Senator Enrique Inzunza from the Morena bloc, Rodriguez assured that the administration's majority in the Senate will ensure the approval of these reforms. She urged lawmakers to act with honesty and moral authority to fulfill the people's confidence in the administration.
