Mexican Army Detains Nine CJNG Cartel Members Including Daughter and Partner of Regional Leader TĂo Lako
The Mexican Defense Secretariat reported the capture of nine members of the Cartel of Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) in a precision operation conducted in the municipalities of Tanhuato and Ecuandureo, Michoacán. The operation resulted in the seizure of 64 vehicles, including one armored vehicle, various weapons, explosives, and a drone. Among the detainees are Marisol N. and Lourdes N., identified as the daughter and partner of Heraclio Guerrero, known as TĂo Lako. Guerrero is the regional leader of the CJNG in Michoacán and Jalisco. The operation was a response to the CJNG's reaction to the killing of the cartel's absolute leader, Ruben Oseguera Cervantes (a), Mencho, in February 2026. Following the captures, the state of Michoacán remained on alert as authorities activated the Plan Antibloqueo to manage road blockages. Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus coordinated with federal forces to monitor potential security incidents in the neighboring region.
