Tropical Storm Marie is intensifying off the Mexican Pacific coast and is expected to become a hurricane within the next few hours. The storm is currently located 670 kilometers south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, with sustained winds of 81 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 112 kilometers per hour. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that the storm's outer bands are already causing heavy rainfall, flooding, and disruptions in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. The system is producing elevated sea waves along the coast of the Baja California Peninsula and the Central Pacific, including Oaxaca. The National Water Commission (Conagua) stated that the storm will reinforce rainfall in western Mexico and generate high sea levels. Authorities recommend that coastal residents stay attentive to weather alerts and take extra precautions due to the risk of storm surge and high waves. Meanwhile, the National Guard provided support for road clearance and waste collection in areas affected by rising water levels.
