Abelardo de la Espriella Secures Agreement with Major Entrepreneurs to Provide 8% Interest Rate for Earthquake Victims

President Abelardo de la Espriella met with prominent business leaders in Barranquilla to coordinate reconstruction efforts for regions damaged by the August 10th earthquake. During the meeting, the administration announced an agreement with financial groups including Grupo Aval, Banco GNB Sudameris, and Grupo Bolôvar to offer home credit loans at a fixed 8% effective annual rate for victims throughout the life of the loan. This initiative follows a similar move by Bancolombia, which also committed to the 8% rate. The administration announced that these measures aim to reduce the financial burden on families while facilitating the reconstruction of infrastructure and services. Additionally, President Abelardo de la Espriella scheduled a visit to the Chocó department on September 7th to design a comprehensive recovery plan. The president emphasized that the private sector plays a critical role in investment and economic development for the affected zones.
