Karen Solomon believed dead after a weeklong search following the death of her police officer husband.

Worcester Police Department Chief Paul Saucier confirmed that Karen Solomon was believed to be found dead in the woods just days after an arrest warrant was issued for her. The search concluded after the death of her husband, Kurt Solomon, a 31-year police veteran, who was found dead at their home early Tuesday morning. Authorities believe Karen Solomon took her own life after being wanted for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with serious bodily injury. While she was initially considered armed and dangerous, her husband's service weapon remained at the home. Doorbell camera footage showed Karen Solomon walking nearby shortly after the incident, but she was found about a half-mile away. Kurt Solomon was a dedicated officer and father of two. Karen Solomon was the co-founder of First HELP, a non-profit group advocating for first responder mental health. The Worcester Police Department received closure after the tragic murder-suicide incident.
