Mexico City authorities have arrested Edgar 'N' and David Alejandro 'N' for their involvement in a cheating scheme during the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) entrance exams held between May and June. The two men, who operated the Más Preparación academy, allegedly took the exams on behalf of students while pretending to be the candidates themselves. This fraud occurred during the first online entrance exam for the prestigious public university, which was intended to save costs and reach more students. Despite security measures like artificial intelligence and identity validation, irregularities were discovered when nine aspirants presented exams with identical connection data. The investigation revealed that the Más Preparación academy, founded by Edgar 'N' and Miriam Flores Garcia, originally aimed to provide counseling services. However, Edgar 'N' and David Alejandro 'N' allegedly engaged in dishonest methods, including paying instructors to take tests for students. The arrests are the first consequence of a scandal that forced the university to repeat the other 43,000 exams in a face-to-face format.
