Mayor Alejandro Eder confirmed that Julio César Sendoya Hincapié, a maxillofacial surgeon and dentist, was the last victim located under the rubble of the Ana Pilar building in the Cuarto de Legua neighborhood. His body was discovered 11 days after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia, marking the end of the search and rescue phase for the tragedy. Julio César Sendoya Hincapié was a respected professional at Dental Care in Cali, known for his expertise in oral surgery and cosmetic facial procedures. His discovery provides closure for families who have been waiting for news since the seismic movement occurred on August 10. Meanwhile, the earthquake has left Cali with 150 dead and over 1,500 injured. Residents like Oscar Zamora and Dolly Crespo have been living in temporary shelters for two weeks as many apartments in the Chiminangos neighborhood remain evacuated due to the risk of collapse. The city is currently undergoing debris removal and reconstruction planning.
